Do you know an animal that has gone above and beyond for an owner or friend? Or maybe you have a pet that has had a traumatic life but has shown outstanding resilience and now brings joy to your life. Or do you have a friend who has campaigned for animal welfare in your area?

We want to hear your heart warming animal stories so if you know someone or an animal that deserves to be recognised then nominate them for an Animal Hero Award!

Nominations for the awards in September 2017 have now closed.  All nominations now received will be considered for the 2018 awards.

If you are under 18, please make sure you have your parent or guardian's permission. If your nominee is under 18, please make sure you have their parent or guardian's permission. Information provided as part of the nomination may be used as part of an editorial feature within the Daily Mirror. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

All nominations and stories are considered.  Stories are not prioritised by quantity of nominations received so you only need to submit once.
